South Shore, Moderate 3.5 miles. Celebrate Sierra Club Founder John Muir’s birthday on the Maha`ulepu coast. Start out mid-afternoon from Shipwreck Beach walking along the coast to Maha`ulepu. Turn makai into Kaua`i Beach Resort (south of Wailua Golf Course). At the end of the tree-lined entry take the small road to the right and drive to the beach. Look for signs by the highway.
