Zonta Club of Hanalei Offers Scholarships

The Zonta Club of Hanalei is accepting applications for its 2016 scholarship program. Individual scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded to 15 successful applicants.

“The scholarship program is one of our most important and impactful projects,” said Karen Abubo, chairperson of the club’s Scholarship Committee. “We see high achievers on the island move into their power, forge their own path and become successful. Zonta’s mission is to empower women through service and advocacy, so we are excited to help women with their education.”

Since 2009, the Zonta Club of Hanalei has awarded more than $72,000 to 87 outstanding Kauai individuals embarking on their college journeys.

Individuals graduating from high school as well as university/college students pursuing an undergraduate degree are eligible to apply. High school graduates pursuing a skills training certificate may also apply.

Applications are available from high school senior counselors, Kauai Community College counselors, or can be downloaded at www.zontaclubofhanalei.com

Completed applications must be emailed or postmarked by March 22, 2016.
