A blessing was held this afternoon to mark the completion of the seawall repair project fronting Pono Kai Resort.

The restoration included structural fill work, repair of the damaged north and south ends, re-grouting along the top of the north end, as well as beach nourishment.
Encompassing 600 linear feet, the cost of the repair work was approximately $950,000.
“This project has been a collaborative effort and is a true sign of the success we can accomplish when everyone works together,” said Mayor Bernard Carvalho, Jr.
The design consultant for the project was Oceanit Laboratories and the general contractor was Goodfellow Bros., Inc.
The subcontractors included: Esaki Engineering; North Shore Hydraulic Services; Scientific Consultant Services; Kaua‘i Hydroseed and Landscape; and Wellington Fencing Company.
