Interview
Miss Jennifer: Selah has been dancing with us for over 4 years now, what do these recitals mean to you as a parent?
Hilary: It is exciting to see her progression from year to year. It’s fun to see all the children progress. Younger dancers are now getting the opportunity to dance pieces they have seen upper level dancers show case in years past. It’s amazing to witness the growth and passage of each dancer.
Miss Jennifer: What are your thoughts on the different styles of dance presented in the recital?
Hilary: Of course, classical ballet is my favorite. There is nothing quite like watching pieces from Swan Lake or Paquita and experiencing the music of Tchaikovsky and other great composers. However, I appreciate the diversity of styles you choreograph and teach. They are all exciting and stimulating. I’m glad my daughter has the opportunity to dance the classics as well as experience and take a part in lots of other styles of dance.
Miss Jennifer: What would you tell the community about Kauai Dance Center and our Winter Showcase?
Hilary: I would say, Come and enjoy the arts! Experience something greater than what you experience day to day, enjoy the classics with us and see something new and exciting. Be inspired by the showcase and try a class out for yourself, there is a class for everyone…all levels and all ages.
