Enterprise Has New Home

On Wednesday, the space shuttle Enterprise was barged up the Hudson from south of Miss Liberty to its new Manhattan home — the flight deck of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum at 43rd Street. We joined crowds on the refurbished pier just south of the apartment where I’m staying to watch it go by. In all, a wondrous sight.

It was followed by the large crane used to lift it onto the Intrepid.

Past the Clock Tower. Notice the sign on the front of the barge — “to Intrepid.”

It moves past the skyscrapers on the NJ shoreline.

It was led by an NYFD boat.

Here you see Miss Liberty and Ellis Island behind the shuttle.
