FRIENDS OF HAWAII CHARITIES, INC SUPPORTS BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS HAWAII

Early in the month of June Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii was presented with a $4,000 grant check from Friends of Hawaii Charities Inc., which awards annual grants to not-for-profit organizations across the state. Its most prominent  and well-known fundraising event is the Sony Open in Hawaii PGA TOUR golf tournament held at Waialae Country Club each January. This grant supports Art-to-Go, a partnership with the Honolulu Museum of Art, which provides art instruction and activities for at-risk youth enrolled in our afterschool mentoring programs. Art-to-Go stimulates creativity, bolsters self-esteem and confidence, increases problem-solving skills and strengthens one-to-one relationships between children and mentors.
