In week three of E Kanikapila Kakou 2015 with its theme Music Into the Community dedicated to Uncle Dennis Kamakahi we welcome Kenneth Makuakane and The Pandanus Club —  Alden Kaiaokamalie, Rodney Lopez Jr. — to the EKK stage along with kane hula dancers from the late O’Brien Eselu’s halau, Ke Kai o Kahiki.

Our presenters will hold an hour of `ukulele/guitar instruction from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for those with instruments who would like to learn some of the group’s songs. From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., our musicians and hula dancers move their presentation to the stage for all to enjoy.

Kenneth, a performer of too many accolades to mention in this space, will be inducted this year into the Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts Hall of Fame as its Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.

E Kanikapila Kakou 2015 presents the best of Hawaiian music, musicians, composers, dancers and storytellers for 10 Monday evenings through March 23, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Aqua Kaua`i Beach Resort in the Jasmine Ballroom. An open bar and food service are available in the ballroom.

TPC PromoA donation in the calabash helps us continue to offer you unforgettable evenings of aloha from the heart. EKK is brought to you by the Garden Island Arts Council with a grant-in-aid from the Hawai`i Tourism Authority and is supported by the County of Kaua`i Office of Economic Opportunity.
