Some pictures are worth more than a thousand words — they’re priceless. For those who appreciate photography, and for everyone else too, this is good time to check out what Kaua‘i’s aspiring photographers are capturing through their lenses.

Kaua’i Community College students in both the introductory and intermediate levels of Digital Photography courses are exhibiting their works at the Waimea Theatre this Holiday Season.

A collection ranging from landscape photography to portraiture and still-life photography is currently on display until Dec. 27.

KCC’s Digital Photography courses, taught by Serge Marcil, cover everything from the basics of camera handling to lighting for portraits and the aesthetics of taking good photos.

Students learn on the college’s state-of-the-art digital single-lens-reflex cameras. Photo equipment is also available for student use, free of cost, whether it’s lighting or the camera and lenses. With Marcil, coordinator of the Waimea exhibition, students will also put into practice their art exhibition installment skills.
