National Tropical Botanical Garden (NTBG) and Kauai Community College (KCC) present “Hawai’i on Fire: Learning to adapt to increasing wildfires,” a free talk by Dr. Clay Trauernicht, a specialist in fire management with the Cooperative Extension Program of CTAHR at the University of Hawaii on Tuesday, October 21 from 5:30 p.m. at KCC‘s Campus Center cafeteria. In his talk, Dr. Trauernicht will discuss the role of wildfires in Hawai’i’s ecosystems and how they can be understood from a global perspective and best managed as they increase in frequency and intensity.
