Kaua‘i residents and returning visitors know the Garden Island rocks. And apparently, the rest of United States knows it too.

USA TODAY and 10Best readers have recently elected Kaua‘i as one of the top 10 best islands in the U.S.

Kaua‘i … enjoys some of the most dramatic natural scenery in the country, from the deep gorges of Waimea Canyon to the verdant cliffs and plunging waterfalls of the spectacular Na Pali coast. And then we get to the beaches — 50 miles worth and each as beautiful as the last. Just off its shores, a colorful underwater world attracts snorkelers and divers from around the globe,” USA TODAY describes Kaua‘i.

After four weeks of voting, the Garden Isle scored 8th in a list of best islands in the U.S.

Kaua‘i — the only Hawaiian Island acknowledged in the top 10 list — is often featured as a top destination in many visitor publications, and some of the Garden Isle’s beaches have been revered to as the best in the world.
