Aloha Rotarians!

If you weren’t able to make it last week, you missed a great presentation! Dr Sy Yuter and wife Elinor joined us from Briarcliff Manor Rotary club of southern New York State. The stories he told us of his time in the Army and on Kauai in the 1940’s was just fascinating! His talk of the Iranian nuclear weapons issue and the Palestinian Gaza International free trade area, gave us intriguing insight.

We were also able to meet two former Rotarians, who have come on board as Interim Officers for the West Side Salvation Army. Majors Neil and Beth Saunders. They have traveled around the world and have so many great stories to share. We were happy to have them as our guests and hope they will consider attending each week. If you see them around the area, please share the Aloha!

President Judith, Jay and I were also able to attend the 2012 Kauai Advisory Board Mahalo Luncheon, hosted by the Salvation Army last week. Majors Neil and Beth Saunders were guest speakers at this event as well. This was a great presentation of appreciation for all those who donate thier time and funds to help the communities on the Island.  Salvation Army had a busy week. Mahalo for all they do and what the organization does for the people of Kauai. We’re proud to have them as a members of our Clubs.
