2016 Charity Walk Fundraising Kicks off at Sheraton Kauai Resort

Sheraton Kauai Resort kicks off its yearly fundraising for the 38th Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk Fundraising by selecting the event as its March and April 2016 beneficiary for the Table 53 program at RumFire Poipu Beach. Net proceeds for all food & beverage at Table #53 in the oceanfront RumFire Poipu Beach restaurant will go toward the resort’s overall fundraising goal for Charity Walk over the next two months.

Hosted by the Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association, the Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk is one of the largest fundraisers in the state, providing an opportunity for Hawaii’s visitor industry to collectively give back to its local communities. Since its inception in 1978, the Charity Walk has raised over $28 million for Hawaii charities, and all of the state’s non-profit charities are eligible to benefit. In 2015, the annual walk on Kauai raised $244,444 by 2,222 walkers, benefiting 57 Kauai charities.

The Table 53 program is offered at RumFire Poipu Beach, Kauai’s oceanfront hot spot, featuring locally sourced cuisine with global influences, exciting cocktails to ignite your palate and over 180-degree oceanfront views from all of its 240 seats. Table 53 features private booth seating overlooking the beautifully landscaped Ocean Courtyard, inviting fire pits and stunning sunsets. Guests can enjoy nightly specials and signature RumFire favorites all while supporting a great cause. The resort encourages guests, “The more you dine, the more we donate.” Over $130,000 has been raised for worthy causes through the Table 53 program since its inception in October 2012.

Patrons who are interested in participating in RumFire’s Table 53 program are encouraged to make reservations in advance by calling808.742.4786 and requesting Table #53. The table is available on a first come, first served basis. Net proceeds for all food and beverage at Table #53 during dinner service will be donated to 38^th Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk, gratuity will be paid to the server and taxes will be remitted to the State of Hawaii.
