The Zonta Club of Hanalei’s Scholarship Committee awarded $10,000 to 16 Kaua`i women who are students from all the area high schools, Kamehameha schools, UH Manoa, Pepperdine and Purdue Universities.  These impressive women were selected based on merit, need and community service, and will use the money to further their education.
Recipients, their guests and Zonta Club members gathered for an elaborate ceremony followed by a delicious luncheon at the scenic home of Patti Graves on Kalihiwai Ridge.
In the four years since the Zonta Club of Hanalei’s scholarship Committee was formed, it has awarded over $30,000 to Kauai women.  Applications for 2013  will be available on the club’s website (zontaclubofhanalei.com) at the end of January.  There are two Zonta clubs on Kauai, and the Zonta Club of Kauai also offers scholarships to area women.
